Supporting Local Families

The Amapas Neighborhood Association (ANA) launched the PAVE project to help local families during the pandemic. PAVE, which stands for “Protein and Vegetables, Extra,” focused on delivering nutritious food to neighbors in need. This initiative was created to respond to the tough economic challenges many faced, ensuring everyone had access to essential meals. 

Responding to the Crisis

As the pandemic hit, ANA saw families struggling to put food on the table. To tackle this issue head-on, ANA partnered with local businesses and community members to provide food baskets to those affected. Their efforts not only addressed immediate needs but also built a stronger sense of community.

Key Highlights of the PAVE Project

Here are some important highlights of the PAVE project:

• Food Deliveries: ANA delivered food baskets to families twice weekly. Each basket included wholesome items like roasted chicken, tortillas, fresh fruits, and vegetables, making it easier for families to cook nutritious meals at home.
• Community Support: The project relied heavily on donations from community members. ANA aimed to raise 60,000 pesos, which would help support 50 families for six weeks. This goal showcased the amazing generosity within the community.
• Local Collaborations: ANA teamed up with local businesses, including a roasted chicken vendor and various produce suppliers, to source quality food and supplies. These partnerships not only helped meet the demand but also supported local businesses during a critical time.

The Impact of PAVE

The PAVE project showcased the incredible power of community-driven initiatives during challenging times. By coming together, residents were able to support one another, providing vital resources to families in need. More than just a food distribution effort, PAVE fostered a sense of solidarity and togetherness, reminding us all that we are stronger when we support each other.
